The co-founders of the BSS-Do were Saul Goodman who had trained with Masunaga in the USA, and Ray Ridolfi the first principal of the BSS-Do.
By 1983 Shiatsu schools including the British School of Shiatsu-Do were offering formal shiatsu training. The BSS-Do was one of the first schools to offer a comprehensive training including nutrition.
Today the BSS-Do teaches as its central subjects Zen Shiatsu practice and theory alongside the other theoretical models of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Elements. Through it’s own practices, methodologies and style the BSS-Do have developed further bodywork disciplines in the form of structural corrections using soft tissue techniques; working with the different rhythms of the body as they manifest in the tissues, fluids, organs and other structures of the body; working with the Core Energetics-The Extraordinary Vessels.
