Liz Cruickshanks

Liz is a senior teacher for the BSS-Do. She has been studying, practicing and teaching Shiatsu, Craniosacral Therapy and Healing for over 20 years in the UK and overseas, running various workshops such as her regular ‘Moving with Ki’ for friend and colleague Sarah Wale at the Gen-Ki School of Shiatsu.

She also shares her experience with students and colleagues in tutorials, observation days and supervision.

She has a busy private practice in south London where she works and integrates her knowledge into her own unique style of bodywork.

After graduating from BSS-Do in 1987 she continued to study and work with many international teachers such as Waturo Ohashi, Michael Rose, Saul Goodman, Ray Ridolfi, Pauline Sasaki and Cliff Andrews, drawing inspiration from all.

In 1989 Liz qualified as a Craniosacral Therapist and continued her exploration with Franklyn Sills at the Karuna Institute further developing her understanding of the depth of this system. More recently she was delighted to work with Mike Boxhall on his post graduate courses – Working with Insecurity and Working with the Spirit.

Liz has accumulated a vast experience through her keen exploration of various forms of bodywork and healing including yoga, Chi Kung and meditation. Personal development work includes working with International teachers Maryann Madden from Australia and Manuel Schoch from Zurich with whom she trained in Time Therapy which she integrates into her unique styles of bodywork as an expansive psycho-emotional tool.

Liz worked in pharmacy for ten years, then in the music industry for ten years and is currently making time to study singing with opera singer Anthea Paraschar as well as learning Ceroc.

“In the work I do, which can be very still and quiet, or physically dynamic and full of movement i perceive that when "the energy moves something happens" it is the still places, the spaces between and it is the same with music”.

Good bodywork is about listening deeply to the clients needs and holding the space for them.
