Henri Firth

Registrar BSS London

Henri loves shiatsu as a deeply supportive and healing art and when the opportunity to run the BSS-Do arose in 2004 she decided to join Char Scrivener as co-owner and registrar. She has also worked as a school administrator for another complementary health training college in London. Over time she has become more and more committed to alternative and complementary health in all its many faceted disciplines.

Henri has trained in homeopathy at the Centre for Homeopathic Education and craniosacral therapy at the Craniosacral Therapy Education Trust. She runs her practice in both therapies from the school.

Teachers of influence are primarily Hilmar Schönauer with whom Henri has studied self knowledge development for the past twelve years. In Homeopathy she continues to be inspired by teachers such as Colin Griffith, Tony Hurley, Mike Bridger and Hilery Dorian.

In Craniosacral Therapy she admires the subtle work of Colin Perrow, Ged Sumner, Michael Kern and Maire Mayne as well as Di Letts with whom she has studied in her Cranial work with horses.

Henri’s areas of professional interest and research include:
Reflective practice and personal development through all aspects of our lives, she sees this as essential for developing and maintaining good practice. She feels passionately that developing a real understanding about oneself and one’s processes increase a practitioner’s ability to be present with their clients needs and thereby give safer, more effective support and treatment.

Originally trained as a Cordon Bleu cook, Henri says that running a shiatsu school was certainly well outside the realms of perceived possibility for her at that time and she is always amazed whenever she looks back at the journey from cook to the BSS-Do.
