Emerson Bastos

Emerson graduated from the BSS-Do in 1996. He has been in full-time practice since then and has been teaching Shiatsu from 2000. He has been involved with complementary therapies since 1989 when he studied acupressure. This led him subsequently to study Shiatsu and become a practitioner.

Where appropriate and according to need he incorporates other techniques in his practice. These include Moxibustion and Cupping; Sei Tai (Body Alignment); Cranio Sacral techniques; Thai Massage and the Family Constellations Approach.

Emerson’s professional experience, training and teachers of influence include:

Working for over 10 years in hospitals and drop-in clinics with clients diagnosed with Immune System related conditions. He has a degree in Physical Education (Phys. Ed.). This background helps enormously in treating sport related injuries and posture related conditions.

He has taken part in workshops with Kishi, Pauline Sasaki, Michael Rose, Paul Lundberg, Ray Ridolfi, and Susanne Franzen. He has also taken part in many Shiatsu Congresses in the UK and Germany.
